Camp Week 3

Join us for a thrilling five-day theatre intensive where students will dive into the captivating realm of "Big Fish." Participants will have the exceptional opportunity to audition, be cast, and perform, all while honing their skills in acting, singing, and dancing. This week of camp particularly emphasizes acting techniques, encouraging students to convey profound emotions on stage.

Camp Details:

  • When: July 21 - July 25th, 2025, 9am-2:30pm

  • Where: San Clemente High School

  • Who: incoming 7th graders - graduated 12th graders

Weekly Schedule:

  • Monday: Introductions & Auditions
We will kick off the week with introductions to the students and staff. Costume measurements will be taken at the start of the day. Audition materials will be distributed, and the opening number will be taught. After lunch, auditions will be held, where students will showcase their talent in front of the directors and choreographers.

  • Tuesday: Casting & Read-Through
Everyone will receive a role in the production and will be given a copy of the script. We will conduct a read-and-sing-through of the show. The cast will begin to learn the show, breaking off into small groups with the director, choreographer, and music director.

  • Wednesday: Blocking the Show
As they begin to memorize their lines at home, students will continue to learn and block the show. They will work in both small and large groups, focusing on character development, line delivery, and singing and dancing techniques.

  • Thursday: Rehearsing the Show
Students will finish learning the final scenes and songs of the show. They will start incorporating technical elements and run the acts with the whole cast.

  • Friday: Tech/Dress Rehearsal
Our directors will conduct what is known as a “cue-to-cue” dress rehearsal in our performance space, incorporating all the necessary technical elements. The students will run the show in its entirety to prepare for the showcase.

Friday Night Showcase: On the final day of camp, students will perform in a showcase for family and friends at 7pm, featuring highlights from "Big Fish." Participation is mandatory, as it provides a wonderful opportunity for students to demonstrate their growth and newfound skills on stage. Call time is TBD.

Tuition: The cost of the camp is $350 per student, which includes all materials and costumes for the showcase (except footwear), and one complimentary workshop.
